OLD TORONTO (DOWNTOWN), TORONTO – Goose Island Brewhouse Toronto announced on Instagram the first release from their local barrel aging program. Mature Situations comes in at 9.7% abv. and is a Belgian tripel that was aged in Niagara Pinot Noir barrels with 60 lbs of blackberries, 3 kg of buckwheat honey, and 300 g of lemon peel per barrel for the Brettanomcyes Bruxellensis yeast to munch on. Pouring a deep rose gold with notes of blackberry jam, citrus, and Brett funk, it is fruity and funk with loads of oak character and refreshing acidity.
